Historic Interest

The pub was listed in John Stotts 1977 Guide to Good Beer in Bolton as selling Tetley Bitter and Mild (H), with TV, darts and dominoes. Black puddings on darts night if you are lucky! In May 1981 this was a Tetley pub selling Mild and Bitter (H), but wasn't listed in error. In 1977 it was listed in the Good Beer Guide. It was listed in the selective Greater Manchester Beer Guide of 1980. By mid 1986 it was to be converted from a Tetley to a Walkers outlet. Work started in September 1986 and the pub reopened on November 5th 1986 selling Walkers Mild and Best Bitter. There was a photo of the Landlord and Landlady in the January 1987 Whats Doing. By December 2002 the pub had disappeared!
