Historic Interest

Delicensed 27/05/11, landlord Simon Kirkpatrick owner Admiral Taverns. The pub was included in the 1976 Good Beer Guide, but was not considered good enough by North Manchester Branch for 1977. Just as well as it was listed in John Stotts 1977 Guide to Good Beer in Bolton it had started selling Tank beer. In a July 1979 article it was noted that the bowling green was now a car park. In May 1981 it was a Burtonwood Keg Pub. In February 1984 it was noted that Burtonwood had 4 signs saying Traditional Beer but it was cold and fizzy keg served through trick Handpumps.
