Historic Interest
Delicensed on 28/03/11 landlord Stephen Cross and owner was Trust Inns. It was listed in the Good Beer Guide in 1989 to 1991. In November 1978 it was the only Matthew Brown pub to be selling cask Lions Mild and Bitter. In May 1981 it was a Matthew Brown Pub selling Mild and Bitter (E). It was listed in the 1981 and 1985 selective Greater Manchester Beer Guides and on a Matthew Brown Cask list in May 1982. In July 1982 Breakfasts were being offered. In Spring of 1986 it was only serving keg beer, but this was soon explained that the pub had become isolated by roadworks. By September 1986 the roadworks had gone the Matthew Brown Mild and Bitter had returned as well as Theakstons Bitter and the following month Theakstons XB as well, though by November 1986 the mild was keg. A social was held here on June 9th 1987. In October 2002 the pub was selling Theakstons Bitter.
