This was the former Chequerbent Police Station situated off the A6 roundabout and is over 140 years old. There has been a refurbishment where the historic features of the building such as the original fireplaces and parquet flooring have been retained. It has been adapted into an informal bar area plus a cosy and welcoming modern restaurant both on the ground floor and upstairs. Roses are everywhere! Behind the bar one can still see the original two steel cell doors from the Police Station days. Upstairs (40 covers) are two rooms, the Custody Suit which can be used for intimate small parties or meetings and a larger room with good views of the distant moors. Parking is available on the front and side of the venue.
