Historic Interest
In May 1981 it was a keg Tetley pub, believed to have been regularly frequented by Fred Dibnah who lived just up the road and even though he did adverts for Greenall Whitley. The Pub was not listed in the 1989 Beer in Bolton Guide as it only sold keg beer. In June 1990 the pub was sold by Tetley to Vaux. There were no reports of any cask beer, until in the Spring of 2012 during a Darcy Lever pub crawl a disused handpump was noted on the bar. In Winter 2015 it was selling Robinsons Dizzy Blonde after a change in landlord. However within 12 months it had gone and so had the landlord and the pub had closed awaiting a new tenant. By the Spring of 2017 the handpump had gone , but by the summer it had returned and was selling Bank Top Flat Cap or Old Slapper. During 2018 the pub closed again awaiting a new tenant, it reopened again but was soon advertised as to let in 2019. By early 2020 there was no cask beer and that didn't change before Admiral Taverns disposed of the pub post Covid.
