This Pub is Permanently Closed
Large Pub with Restaurant and bar on A6 near to M61 junction and Toughsheet stadium. Major external appearance changes were completed, including renaming from the Brinsop to The One, though external signs were conspicuous by their absence, and then it closed.

Historic Interest
It was included in the Good Beer Guide in 1982, 1983, 1985 to 1988, 1991, 2006-2008 and 2010. Originally in 1975 a Bass pub selling 4X Mild and Brew 10 Bitter. It was listed in John Stotts 1977 Guide to Good Beer in Bolton as Brintsop (Brinsop) selling Bass Charrington Bitter and Mild (H). By December 1979 it was on the Bass (NW) list as selling 4X Mild, Brew Ten and Draught Bass. By February 1980 it was being extended into the shop next door and was additionally selling Boddingtons Bitter. It was listed in the 1980 selective Greater Manchester Beer Guide. By October 1980 Moorhouse's Premier Bitter was on the bar too. In May 1981 it was a Free House selling Draught Bass, Bass Cask and 4X Mild, Boddingtons Bitter and Pollards Bitter which was soon changed to Hartleys XB (H). At the end of 1982 it was the only outlet for Draught Bass in Bolton. A social was held here on May 1st 1983. In August 1983 the pub changed hands as a result Ruddles Bitter was tried and disappeared and Bass Cask Bitter became known as Hammonds Bitter. The pub was soon being extended into the cottages next door and Matthew Brown Bitter and John Peel Special were expected to be on the bar soon. By January 1984 Robinsons Old Tom was available and a function room was available. A Pub Crawl visited on September 2nd and found Matthew Brown Mild and Bitter, Robinsons Best Bitter and Theakstons Bitter and XB, Jennings Bitter had been and gone. A regional social was held here on December 6th. In April 1985 there was a letter of complaint about the choice of beers. In June 1985 the list of beers were Draught Bass, Bass Cask, Tetley Mild and Bitter, Walkers Best Bitter, Robinsons Best Bitter and Old Tom (in winter) and Boddingtons Bitter (H). A social was held here on June 8th 1985. The pub was listed in the 1985 selective Greater Manchester Beer Guide. In February 1986 planning permission was being sought for a sixteen bedroom hotel, also that month Jennings Bitter was on sale again and there was another social on March 16th and again on November 9th 1986 when the beers were Beers were now Tetley Mild, Bitter, Walkers Best Bitter, Boddingtons Bitter, Thwaites Bitter, Stones Bitter, Marstons Pedigree and Hammonds Bitter (Bass Cask). By April 1987 Hydes Dark Mild and Bitter were on the bar, Timothy Taylors Ram Tam and Lees Bitter had been recent guests. Another social was held on June 21st 1987. In January 1988 it was reported that owner Jim Hardy was looking to sell the pub, there was a social on January 24th 1988. By November 1989 further alterations but still had ten cask beers on the bar. In March 1990 a Beer Festival with thirty beers was held, but by June the pub was up for sale at £1.2 Million after going into liquidation. It was December 1993 before a new application was made to relicence the pub. Work to reopen the pub seemed to take a long time and it was November 1997 when Taylors Landlord, Boddingtons Bitter, Draught Bass, Wadworth 6X, Marstons Pedigree were on the bar. There was also now a restaurant plus Bar Food. BY 2002 the beers were Boddingtons Bitter, Timothy Taylors Landlord, Hydes Bitter and Jekylls Gold, Phoenix Arizona.
