This Pub is Permanently Closed

When this pub shut in 1997, everyone thought it was for good. But it reopened in 2000 after a long battle by locals to stop it being turned into houses. It closed again in 2007 but reopened in January 2008 after a long refurbishment. It is now yet another gastropub, run by the people who have the Wheatsheaf (Beetham). The old small rooms and coal fires are still in place, but the decor is now restrained, tasteful and carefully-lit. There are two dining-rooms upstairs.
