A small family-run hotel with two bars packed with memorabilia. Two handpumps dispense a constantly changing range of local ales. Home-cooked food is served using fresh local produce, with takeaways available, including Sunday lunch. Outside, the decked patio has views of abundant wildlife including red squirrels. The hotel is popular with real ale enthusiasts as well as walkers and wildlife watchers. It opens on Wednesday and Thursday evenings if darts or dominoes matches are held. Good-value B&B is available.
