The Downview was first built in 1891, and is a large, 2 bar pub located on the corner of the road, opposite West Worthing level crossing. The building is feature rich, with a traditional Dutch gable frontage. There are signs of the Kemp Town Brewery once owning the pub. Pool is played here. There is live music and a monthly karaoke night. Large plasma screens show live sport. A Weekly quiz is held on Wednesday night. Various football team shirts and flags adorn the walls.
