A popular beer delivery app launched by the Campaign for Real Ale is now available for Android users.
Brew2You, which allows users to search for and purchase fresh beer, cider and perry from local producers and pubs trying to stay afloat during lockdown, has already generated £20,000 in sales since its iOs launch on 6 May.
Over 200 pubs, clubs, breweries and cider producers have signed up to trade on the platform, including the likes of Moor Beer, Hook Norton and Bedlam Brewery.
The app is a not-for-profit initiative to support the industry during this difficult time and is completely free for pubs and breweries to use, apart from a set £2/month Stripe user fee for payment processing.
It has received widespread support across the industry, with endorsement from the British Institute of Innkeepers (BII), the Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA) and Cask Marque.
CAMRA is urging beer and cider lovers to use the app to support small businesses, so that they are in a better position to re-open when lockdown is lifted.
CAMRA National Chairman Nik Antona said: “The Brew2You app is a lifeline for an industry that has been devastated by the current lockdown measures. It was developed to make it as easy as possible for people to access locally produced artisan beers, ciders and perries while the nation’s pubs remain closed.
“The app has been a huge success in a short period of time, and we anticipate that its availability on Android devices will go even further to supporting these small businesses that are currently at risk of permanent closure.”
Brew2You is available to download on both iOs and Android devices. To find out more or become a partner, visit https://brew2you.co.uk/
