Join Alison Taffs in discovering the principles behind matching beer with food

CAMRA’s latest Learn & Discover video is now available for beer-lovers

CAMRA has published its latest video guide on its Learn & Discover platform, this time helping its members discover the art of pairing beer with food with drinks educator Alison Taffs

In the Campaign’s latest exclusive video, Alison outlines the principles behind matching food with beer and the main styles that viewers might come across. The final section of Alison’s video focuses pairing beer with different cheeses.

The video follows hot on the heels of a cider and food pairing video with Alison, which debuted in October’s Cider Month which coincides with the harvest season.

Alison is a drinks educator with 20 years of experience in the industry. She is also the co-founder of the Grape Society and landlady of the Hop Inn micropub in Hornchurch, as well as a regular contributor on the CAMRA Podcast Pubs. Pints. People.

Alison said: “Pairing great beers with different foods unlocks a whole new world of tastes and experiences, even for the most seasoned beer drinkers. The taste of a bitter or stout can vary greatly depending on what cheese you pair it with. Particularly at this time of year, beer and food pairings can be a real culinary delight, and I hope CAMRA members will enjoy this new video guide and hopefully learn a bit more on how to match their menu over the holiday season.”

CAMRA’s online learning platform is home to a wealth of new content from writers, educators and experts. New guides, articles, videos and audio content are added every week exploring everything there is to know about beer, cider, perry and pubs.

All new content includes free intros and taster sessions for non-members, so that visitors to the site can get a feel for the benefits of a CAMRA membership. To access member-only content, CAMRA members simply need to sign in at the top of the webpage with their membership number and password. Non-members can join the campaign for just £26.50*/year.

A CAMRA membership helps CAMRA’s campaigning efforts to save pubs during this difficult time. You can join by visiting join.camra.org.uk
