Tickets are now on sale for CAMRA’s Great British Beer Festival Winter, taking place 9-12 February 2022 at the New Bingley Hall in Birmingham.
The festival, which took place virtually in March 2021, will be returning to in-person festivities early next year. The annual winter celebration will include a range of the best real ales in different styles from the West Midlands region and beyond, ciders and perries, and a selection of gins and non-alcoholic options.
The festival will also be hosting CAMRA’s Champion Bottled Beer of Britain competition, with the winner and other finalists being available to try at the bar following judging. This competition last ran in 2020, with the Gold award going to Hogsback brewery’s A over T (9.0% ABV). The Champion Bottled Beer of Britain Award goes to the very best beer dispensed from a bottle rather than a traditional cask hand pull.
Mark Parkes, the festival organiser, said: “We are thrilled to be welcoming the Great British Beer Festival Winter back to Birmingham in-person for the first time in two years. It will be spectacular to welcome CAMRA members and guests back to the festival for socialising with fellow beer lovers and good times with friends and family. We hope to see you there!”
Tickets are £18, which includes entry, £10 worth of beer tokens and the refundable hire of a past festival glass. CAMRA members get a £2 discount on entrance tickets. Tickets are available on: https://winter.gbbf.org.uk/
The return of GBBF Winter comes as CAMRA relaunches its festival programme this autumn. CAMRA official events had been suspended since March 2020, for the safety of attendees and in line with government regulations. As restrictions have now lifted, local branch beer festivals that have been 18 months in the making are welcome to open their doors once more.
