Good Beer Guide Belgium is the essential new guide to one of the world’s greatest beer destinations

The fully revised and updated edition of CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide Belgium by Tim Skelton showcases over 1,500 beers and the 400 brewers and lambic blenders who make them, plus, most importantly, 650 of the very best places to enjoy them.

The book explores all regions of Belgium, including Brussels, Antwerp, Flanders, Brabant (Flemish and Wallonian), Luxembourg and Liege, with useful travel tips and recommendations on what to eat and where to stay.

The beer industry in Belgium has changed significantly in recent years, with a large increase in breweries, and now boasts of more than 400. The Good Beer Guide Belgium includes an A-Z of breweries with useful rankings for these must-visit destinations. From blond ales and saisons to black beers and wild fermented lambics, this is the perfect guide for any tourist keen to experience Belgium’s diverse beer culture!

The ninth edition of the Good Beer Guide Belgium has been entirely independently researched, featuring 650 of the best venues to enjoy these amazing beers, from cosy cafés and specialist beer bars to brewery taprooms and world-renowned festivals.

The book has two forewords: one written by Tim Webb, original creator and long-time curator of the guide, and the other by Yvan De Baets, co-founder of the famous De La Senne Brewery in Brussels.

Written by beer and travel guide writer Tim Skelton, the Good Beer Guide Belgium is published 14 May and can be pre-ordered from CAMRA’s online shop now.

Speaking about writing the book, Tim said:

"I’ve lived in Benelux for over 30 years, visited Belgium more than 100 times, and thought I knew everything about the country. But researching this new edition of CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide Belgium still led me to find undiscovered beer-y gems that I’d never previously been aware of."

The world-renowned Belgian brewer, Chouffe, is sponsoring the publication, with Duvel Moortgat UK General Manager, Steve Behan saying:

“It is a pleasure for Chouffe to be the headline sponsor of the ninth edition of the CAMRA Good Beer Guide Belgium. Belgian beer is renowned for its exceptional quality, traditional craftsmanship and broad variety, and we are proud to help celebrate that through this guide. We are delighted to support a publication that champions the quality, diversity and rich heritage of Belgian beer.”

About the sponsor

In the rich green landscape of the Ardennes in Belgium, in the village of Achouffe, the story of the Chouffe brewery began. On 27 August 1982, two brothers Chris Bauweraerts and Pierre Gobron, brewed their very first 49-litre batch of La Chouffe. Initially started as a hobby, the Chouffe brewery was such a success they decided to purchase the farm they had been brewing on for four years. Embarking on their brewing venture full time in 1986! Over 40 years later, Marcel and the cheeky Chouffe gnomes are still brewing magical beer in the Valley of the Fairies!
