The Campaign for Real Ale’s (CAMRA) podcast Pubs. Pints. People. is back for a new episode dedicated to malt.
CAMRA’s popular Pubs. Pints. People. podcast shines a light over the world of beer, cider, pubs and clubs, as well as highlighting the consumer group’s campaigning efforts.
In the fourth episode of the podcast’s seventh series, the team explore another essential beer ingredient; malt.
The episode features interviews with industry experts, including Dr Dave Griggs of Crisp Maltings and the Head Brewer of Five Points Brewing Company, Max Descloux, to see how malt is used in the brewing process.
The hosts also chat with British Guild of Beer Writers Award winner Mark Dredge, who won gold in the best communication about low- and no-alcohol beer category to talk all things malt beer and our resident chef Christian Gott talks to the team about the flavours of malt.
The team visit the family brewer Harvey’s at their iconic brewery in Lewes to speak with Head Brewer Miles Jenner, getting a glimpse of their historical set up as well as discussing the malting process.
