Commenting on the publication of Scottish Conservatives manifesto for the General Election, CAMRA’s Director for Scotland Sarah Crawford said:
“The Scottish Conservatives’ commitment to reviewing alcohol duty after the next General Election is welcome, but this review must include beer and cider as well as Scotch whisky.
“CAMRA would like to see all parties commit to reducing beer duty as well as introducing a lower rate of duty charged on beer served in pubs, in order to help locals stay open and thriving and to help support responsible drinking in a supervised, community setting.”
