38th Stockport Beer & Cider Festival

The Stockport Beer Festival is returning for its fourth time at the Stockport Guildhall, a Grade II listed building on Wellington Road South, from June 18 to 20. The Guildhall is a versatile venue with multiple rooms. We feature four unique beer bars and a dedicated cider bar. Around 60 breweries are showcased across the Wellington, Brentnall bars, Bar Nouveau, and the festival charities bar. All cask ales are both cooled and conditioned on-site. The cider bar offers chilled ciders served from bag-in-box and bottles. Additionally, our bottle bar displays a range of beers and ciders from European producers, including lagers, imperial stouts, and other styles, offering a broad spectrum of flavours.

The bar areas offer comfortable seating, and there is an outdoor space with a large gazebo. The venue is wheelchair accessible, featuring wide corridors between rooms and a lift to the music room and Bar Nouveau on the first floor.

Bar Nouveau features a variety of unique beers, including commercial versions of our Home Brew competition winners. The festival is known for its friendly, welcoming atmosphere, with families invited to participate until 7:30 pm when those under 18 should say goodnight.

Early Doors’ packages, which offer a souvenir glass and £10 worth of beer or cider, are available now at a discounted price of £16.50. Entry is free at all times for CAMRA members, provided they place a no-cost order using the ticket options on the website under the “Advance Package” tab.

STAFFING – A WARM WELCOME 

The Stockport Beer and Cider Festival, one of the largest CAMRA events in the North, is looking for over 150 volunteers. Help is needed in areas like bars, customer service, reception, glass collection, the CAMRA shop, finance, games, and membership, especially during peak times. The busiest times are Friday evening and Saturday, with all sessions offering free beer or cider, food, and a T-shirt for volunteers.

The setup starts on June 15; enjoy rewards like free food, beer at Petersgate Tap, a bottle of Old Tom, and festival drinks vouchers.

The knockdown on Sunday, June 21, is crucial, with free beer and cider, pub vouchers, and free food. Reasons to volunteer include having fun, making friends, and supporting the campaign. Volunteers working until 11:30 get a subsidised taxi home; the festival is easily accessible via the 192 bus route. It’s an enjoyable opportunity to meet new people! Additionally, all volunteers are welcome to a staff party at Gateway in Parrswood, where free food and drinks will be provided.
