Originally established as Great Western in 2008, the brewery relocated and rebranded to Hop Union in 2021. The move has allowed for much-needed expansion and will enable canning and kegging onsite. One pub, the Rising Sun, Frampton Cotterell, is owned, as well as a shop at the new site. A taproom opened in 2022.
