A 15th century, family-run thatched brewpub - the oldest continuously brewing in the country. Home to the world famous Spingo ales, from the brewery at the rear of the Blue Anchor, using its own well water. It was built sometime in the 18th century. Beforehand, Spingo was brewed within the confines of the pub. The Spingo name derives from the word Stingo, used in the old English dictionary of 1625, to describe British strong beer.
