This pub is a large 19th-century traditional city-centre building with an attractive brick terracotta exterior. A stained-glass window above the entrance displays the original name, the Vine. The large interior single room is divided into separate areas, with TVs showing sport throughout the pub.
A range of eight cask ales are served, with several craft keg beers available, often including sour styles. A large number of ciders are available, usually Lilley’s.
The pub is popular with all age groups. There is a weekly quiz, live music A DJ entertains on Saturday evenings until late. Keep an eye on social media for details of live music.
The pub was extensively refurbished in January 2025.
