This Pub is Permanently Closed
The pub was designed by the outstanding pub architect Nowell Parr and built in the 1920s. Between 2007-2010 Gordon Ramsay ran the pub as The Devonshire. The pub was then vacant for a year. In June 2011 a new gastro pub opened as the Devonshire Arms, but ceased trading 8 months later. The pub was then marketed for a further 3 months, before it was reopened as a community pub hub. This failed after two months. Planning permission was granted in 2013 to demolish the pub and build seven flats.
