This Pub is Closed Long Term

July 2024 - "The long closed Falcon has been purchased by Brent Council (I think we assumed they already owned it) from some outfit called LONDONEWCASTLE (QP2) LLP.

There were workmen on that triangle last time I passed."

NOTE - Noted this morning (18/12) as closed and boarded up. perhaps related to the planning application referred to below.

11th October 2019 - Brent Council are holding a cabinet meeting on 14th October to discuss termination and the option to acquire the Falcon land site, including the Falcon pub - "Site 18 consists of Keniston Press (demolished), Premier House, Cullen House, the Falcon public house and the spur road." The Falcon pub was due for demolition to be replaced with housing, as part of the South Kilburn regeneration area.

The pub is owned by LN, and if the agreement is terminated Brent Council will have the option to buy the pub. Brent would need to submit a new planning application to demolish the pub and replace with housing. Consultations are ongoing with South Kilburn residents about future plans for the area.

16th June 2019 - Site visit and photos taken. All buildings on the triangle, including the Falcon pub are still standing and there is no evidence of demolition. Planning for demolition of the Falcon site was granted in 2012. Although 'non-material amendments' were made in 2018, it may be that this application may have lapsed after 3 years. This depends on whether Brent Council have made a meaningful start on implementing the permission granted. Planning and building control records can be found on the Brent Council website.

The Falcon closed in 2016, bought for £2.75 from Greene King and planning permission was granted for demolition to be replaced by housing relating to the South Kilburn regeneration, along with the surrounding area - Brent Council planning application 12/0788.

How it had been ---
