This Pub is Permanently Closed
The site was formerly the Six Bells pub dating from 1722. The current impressive building was completed around 1900 to the designs of architect George Rackstraw Crickmay. Latterly a Henry J Beans to 2014, it is now part of the Caprice Holdings restaurant group; a large restaurant with 155 covers inside and 120 outside, and including a bar, lounge, and garden. There are now six flats on the upper floors.
Historic Interest
Grade II listed, Historic England ref 1031883. There is a reference in the book called 'My life with Dylan Thomas' written by his wife Caitlin Thomas, which suggests this was a frequent drinking hole of the famous poet.
