Historic Interest

Opened in 1955 following the demolition of the old Brown Cow pub and at the same time the closure of the Gladstone Arms on the opposite side of the road. Described in 1990 as a typical modern Whitbread pub, open plan with split level areas serving Whitbread Castle Eden on hand pump. Closed finally about 2012, demolished and the site developed as residential flats.
