Proposed conversion of former hotel into 2no. terraced dwellings including associated building alterations and some demolition work (less than 115 cubic metres)Near the seafront and the Grand Pavilion, the Lorelei is a long term Guide regular. Good-quality and value-for-money food is served evenings (no food Mon) and Sunday lunchtime. Four draught beers are available plus cider during the summer. Beer festivals are held twice a year. The pub was built around the end of the 19th century. During WWI, when it was two separate buildings, one half was reportedly used as a hospice for injured soldiers.
