Lively community pub tucked away just off Sale's pedestrianised School Road shopping street between it and a Sainsbury supermarket. The Pub recently reopened for a change in manager during which time the decor was refreshed. Layout is more of a bar than a pub with a single room with bar at one end. However the atmosphere is definitely that of a traditional pub with a cross section of the community (with both sexes represented) mixing day or night. There is a pool table and dart board in regular use and an internet jukebox often cranked up to give a party atmosphere even on a Saturday afternoon. Children are welcome until 5.30pm. The pub still runs a weekly meat draw - a practice which used to be common in near every working mens' pub but which has died out in many - alongside a range of special offers & events. It is "happy hour" between 6 & 7 Monday to Thursday and during any Manchester United or Manchester City game. Thursday is Chilli & Curry Night. Friday, Saturday & Sunday evenings see a live DJ. There is a small yard to rear used by smokers but many just use the street outside which is a dead end so sees little traffic.
