This Pub is Permanently Closed
This handsome mock-Tudor pub was built by Russell's brewery of Gravesend in 1926 as the Olde Charles. When built the area was mainly fields and a view of the seas could be seen, which is now sadly obscured by the houses which have been built since. Lastly it had a sumptuous open lounge with discreet seated alcoves, and a large garden with petanque and bat & trap pitch games available.
The pub was renamed as the Holly Tree at the end of May 2013. But after fires in 2014 and 2017 it had to be demolished. The site is yet to be developed.
