This Pub is Permanently Closed

Demolished as part of a residential development in November 2020.

It was an old roadside tavern which dates back to 1493: in the reign of King Henry VII. It was originally known as the Crown and Sceptre and became The Orb in 1962. The pool room was thought to be haunted with ghostly noises often being heard when the room is empty.
