Real ale is served from two hand-pulls in this traditional Scottish pub offering public bar, lounge and small adjacent room. The friendly bar has a classic interior with wooden bench seating and a dartboard, hosting a darts team during the week. Please note that opening hours cannot be guaranteed - pub may open later at weekends, or close early depending on trade level. Manager Jeff happy taking phone calls prior to visit. 07900 492160. 10 minute walk from the town centre, but some buses stop nearby. The pub is cash only.

A little-altered drinkers' pub that stocks its own label 25-year-old blended whisky with a cask strength of 59%. The public bar has a 100-year-old gantry, an old bar counter with a replacement front, and two old whisky mirrors - one for Dewar's, the other for Bell's. The off-sales and its sliding hatch have been retained. The lounge has some fittings from the 1950s and there is another room in a small extension with old fixed seating but the fireplaces have been lost. Unaltered gents'.
