A fine anchor sign hanging on the exterior wall with a 1741 date. The interior is large, part-divided into three areas, all served from a central bar with threehandpulls. Nautical theme internally with a fine selection of old spirits mirrors on the walls. Food available most of the day. Situated centrally in the real ale hotspot of Broughty Ferry at the mouth of the Tay estuary. Pleasant coastal walks nearby along a fine seafront esplanade with golden sands, a castle and small harbour.
Recently re-opened (Feb 2026) following refurbishment but retaining much of tradtional features. Has three handpumps, Timothy Taylor Landlord being intended as a permanent beer, along with one or two guest ales at any time.
This Pub serves 2 changing beers and 1 regular beer.
