Welcoming and traditional village pub whose character hasn’t changed in decades – just like the landlord! The interior is spacious but intimate, with no food featured, just ale and conversation. Comfy seating and a log fire are enhanced by a music-free environment. The sparkler is willingly removed on request. Off-road parking is available opposite. Note lunchtime opening is weekends only.

Historic Interest

Opposite the pub is a colliery wheel memorial recognising the pit head workings which operated in the area until 1989.
