This Other Drinking Establishment is Closed Long Term
This is an other drinking establishment and you may be charged for entrance at certain times.
Now converted to a cocktail bar with only bottled beers. The former Plough Inn was sold by Young's and reportedly leased by the operator of the Artesian Well opposite after the late licence for that establishment had been withdrawn following protests. Next to the former Woodwards brewery buildings. As can be seen in the photo, this pub had previously retained a typical Young's façade with ceramic plaque featuring the ram mascot. Inside was a surprisingly intimate L-shaped room with a dark red colour scheme, a large screen for football, a smaller one for racing and a pool table at the rear. Pavement terrace for smokers and occasional live music.
