This Pub is Permanently Closed
Demolished in 2014 - see photo from July - after permission was granted by Wandsworth Council on 22 January for demolition and replacement by seven 3-bed houses. The pub had been CLOSED in November 2009 and reportedly sold by Admiral Taverns in May 2010. The Highwayman was once one of CAMRA's London Heritage Pubs: a purpose-built community pub constructed in 1959 specifically to serve the neighbouring post-war estate. It had a cosy, wood panelled interior enhanced by neatly hung pictures mostly of cricketers.
