Unusually atmospheric pub with separate drinking areas around large central pine bar. Bare brick walls adorned with old advertisements; wooden floor and wooden furniture.

Very much a sports bar at weekends. Its website advertises the pub as a darts venue for groups of up to twelve at £8 per person per hour. Indeed, the upstairs room functions as a darts lounge: spacious, attractively furnished and with four dartboards - two against each of the side walls - and identifying itself as the Clapham Darts Club. There's a small, enclosed central bar.

Thai food from nearby Pepper Tree restaurant.

Ideal for tube station, bus stops and tourists.

On a 7 July 2025 visit, no cask ale was available. Greene King Abbot Ale had been on over the weekend. The barman advised that they rarely sell cask ale in midweek. It is confined to Friday, Saturday & Sunday.
