The "Regulator" to Ipswich called every forenoon at 11am. The pub was bought by Greene King in 1898 who sold it to Messrs Cobbold of Cliff Brewery in 1926. Greene King bought pub again in 1990. A fire in 1781 destroyed a brew-house, stable, granery, old parlour & bed chambers. The pub was then closed for 10 years.
