Traditional backstreet local which relies primarily upon regulars and wet trade. The pub is the nearest pub to the away fans' entrance for Aldershot FC and supporters are made very welcome.

In July 2017 the pub was sold by Fullers into private ownership, since when there have been attempts to convert it in all or part to other uses. The latest planning application to convert the pub to flats was submitted in April 2023 and was refused as it was considered that the application failed to provide sufficient credible evidence that there is no longer-term need for the pub. However, the pub remains closed with no immediate prospect of it reopening.

An application to relist the pub as an Asset of Community Value, following the expiring of its previous listing is to be submitted in July 2023 and it is hoped that a new local community campaign to buy the pub can be launched.
