This Pub is Permanently Closed
Once a busy town centre pub of character, which featured in the first edition of the Good Beer Guide. It closed in the early 1990s, being converted to shops and latterly an estate agent. It has now stood vacant for several years, but a planing application was submitted in March 2014, to convert it back into a cafe, so there could be life in the building yet. The attractive exterior is still retained, including an unusual royal deer stone plaque above the door.
