This Pub is Closed Long Term
The pub was converted to a Thai Restaurant in November 2015. This closed in July 2019 and after a period when the pub was unsuccessfully marketed to new tenants, it was sold to developers in 2022. A planning application was then submitted to partially demolish the pub and make other alterations to convert it to 5 dwellings. This was turned down in January 2024, due to issues related to access and over-development, but was granted on appeal in November 2024.
The Harrow was on the main road (B3000) in the historic village of Compton just south of the Hog's Back and half mile from the North Downs Way. Built as a brewhouse and inn in 1831, the oak-beamed pub closed in 2015.
