Please note this Pub is closed 15/01/2019 and became Closed Long Term 14/04/2022 (Closed, change of use applied for). The pub closed in January 2019. In May 2021 planning permission was granted for mansard roof and side extensions to create 4 flats on upper floors and expand the ground floor pub. During a January 2022 site visit, planners observed unauthorised conversion of ground floor appeared to be underway and a warning letter was issued. Planning application subsequently submitted for residential conversion of ground floor (22/AP/0459) which was refused in May 2023. The same month the council issued an enforcement notice requiring removal of residential partitions and fixtures. In July 2023 the owner filed an appeal against the planning refusal. Appeal rejected by Planning Inpectorate in July 2024 ruling that the pub was unlawfully converted into flats and must once again be a public house.
