A franchised Wetherspoon branded located within the Holiday Park area, it opened in early March 2024 in what had been a Haven Leisure branded pub called Mash & Barrel.

It is intended to be a venue primarily for those staying at the park who may be expected to prove residence if asked.

Upon enquiry the venue has said that casual visitors, not staying, could be served at quiet times away from weekends, bank holidays and school holiday periods. If travelling from far it is suggested call site first.

The pub may close temporarily if the holiday park is closed at the time.

Historic Interest

It is named after how in 1857, on Filey’s seafront, five large stone blocks were uncovered. These supported a 4th-century Roman signal station, 30 metres high and 14 metres square, topped by a beacon which was lit when invading ships were spotted.
