The White Boar reopened on 11/06/16 after a major, mostly tasteful, open plan refurbishment. The pub's several attempts to sell stocks of real ale met insufficient demand, and again, no longer offers cask beer. An external banner announces Home Cooked Food is available and the Kitchen currently opens until 7pm on Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday. The sign outside claims that it is "Bury's No.1 Sporting venue"
