This Pub is Closed Long Term

A pub purchased by Sam Smiths in the 1980s but has never been opened. The license continues to be renewed as confirmed by Reading BC. Repeated enquiries from Reading CAMRA and various media have elicited little-to-no response. Various theories circulate as to why a prime piece of town centre real estate has been left to rot but from branch research it appears to be down to a dispute between the brewery and the Council regarding the car park to the rear of the pub.
