This Pub is Closed Long Term
This traditional village pub near the river at the bottom of the village was a former Phipps house built in 1740. Wood-burning fires in both the bar and lounge cum 24 cover restaurant. TV, jukebox, pool table and darts in a small room off the bar. A charity beer festival used to be held each September. Food served Fri to Sun lunch and Tue to Sat evening. Camping is available in the large gardens. Reopened in November 2011 after period of closure. Given a CAMRA Gold Award in March 2007.
Much building work going on to the rear of the (temporarily?) closed pub.
