This Pub is Closed Long Term

The pub was closed at the end of February 2015 by the owner who is a property developer & who apparently did not wish to see the pub viable. On 20th March 2015 it was put up for sale for possible conversion of the premises into a supermarket.

A community group is campaigning to save the pub (see the Facebook page).

Historic Interest

Was known for many years as the Prizefighters, and was opened by the British boxer Freddie Mills.

Active Campaign

On 20th March 2015 it was put up for sale for possible conversion of the premises into a supermarket. A number of planning applications for change of use have been submitted and refused. A community group is campaigning to save the pub. They have the full support of Worth Parish Council.
