This establishment was first licensed in 1731 and was an old coaching inn. In recent years the premises have undergone major refurbishment. The pub serves keg beers, continental beers, wines, spirits and cocktails but no cask beer. There is a restaurant with a good reputation and a large outside seating area in the courtyard. Dante's Italian restaurant is across the courtyard.
