Undergoing a significant make-over as it emerges from lockdown including a name change. Their website does not give any info on actual opening hours - so we have had a guess. We are guessing cask beer is no longer served. "The Wine Cellar team opens 163 Upper Street wine bar and kitchen: The team behind The Wine Cellar on Highgate’s Swain’s Street – Jay Turner and Oliver Beetlestone – opened 163 Upper Street wine bar and kitchen on Friday (25 September). The Islington site serves a broad choice of wines, priced from £14 to in excess of £100, reports Hot Dinners. Turner and Beetlestone previously worked at Wild Food Cafe and Cafe 41. At 163 Upper Street, customers can expect bar snacks such as homemade Scotch eggs and hasselback potatoes, plus small plates such as beef tartare and burrata with black truffle. The following reflects its time before as The Taproom: First appeared as a pop-up pub, in 2013 acquired permanent status. With just gravity dispense this is a welcome addition to Upper Street. Casks stored in metal chilled cabinet with sliding glass doors at front serve a changing range of cask beers. Mon-Thu between 4pm and 6pm and all day Sunday there is a "happy hour" with all cask beers reduced. Seven craft keg taps including UK and imported beers. A long and interesting bottled beers list of over 40. It is a long, thin room with distressed décor and a downstairs room for functions and live music. Now has a semi-permanent pizza ‘pop-up’ called Lords of Dough Town instead of bar snacks.
