Cosy local’s pub close to the Train Station, and a short walk from the centre of Newport. Recently refurbished with a new cool cellar (more of a cupboard) added, plus several fonts dispensing local beers, some brewed by the new owner. There are usually 2 Cask ales on, often locally sourced, though if it runs out on Sunday it is unlikely to be replaced as the pub is closed on Monday and Tuesday

Live music often on Sunday evenings, often local solo performers or duos.

Lots of banter and conversation otherwise, with no background music or TV to intrude.
