Red Dragon, Port Talbot

Sadly this pub was sold to be demolished and replaced by 22 No flats approx. mid/late 2025. The building was demolished in July/August 2026. Instagram link from Castell Group showing the start of demolition!

The following planning application was submitted to Neath Port Talbot Council on Wed 03 Sep 2025 and was "Approved" on Fri 13 Mar 2026:- P2025/0632 | Demolition of existing public house, and construction of a residential development comprising 22 No. units with on-site parking, landscaping and sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) and associated infrastructure works. | The Red Dragon Moorland Road Sandfields Neath Port Talbot SA12 6JZ.

Large and friendly back street local set in the middle of a large housing area, but not far from the sea front promenade. It has a slightly unusual layout in that there are two large public rooms, each with their own entrances, but with no internal access for customers between the two rooms! The public bar and games area is on the left, whilst the comfortable lounge and conservatory are on the right hand side. Both are served from one very long bar. There is plenty of outside seating at the front and a large car park.
