The Old Mill opened in 2013 in the premises of the United Services Club, formerly a flannel mill in Llanidloes. It consists of an eclectic mix of furniture set around a wood panelled bar- featuring a baby grand piano, fish tank and other quirky curios. The main bar is carpeted with the baby grand to one end. The second room to the left of the main bar has a pool table and the walls of the bar are decorated with pages from encyclopaedias and art magazines. There is a recently opened an art gallery in a side room where works of local artists are available to view and buy. This room is also used for regular meetings for French classes and a photography group and regular film screenings by the local film club. The pub sells three rotating real ales from a variety of craft breweries which usually includes a Hopcraft beer and a porter or stout. Lunch is served Wednesday to Saturday from 12-2pm, using locally sourced ingredients and serves Sunday roasts every week. There are also regular evening food events. A large function room is available for hire and plays host to a range of events from weddings to comedy nights, theatre and dances. The pub itself holds regular music gigs and there is a folk session every Sunday evening. The entrance is down a passage off the high street and there is a beer garden. The Old Mill is a relaxed and family friendly bar, dogs are also welcome! **Closed July 2019 due to increased running costs**
