Flying Shuttle, Newtown

Typical edge of town estate pub built in 1980’s with name reflecting the town’s historical trade. Occupying a large plot with a substantial car park and enclosed beer garden, this PubCo owned establishments has had several periods of closure/reopening and could be so much more than it is serving a substantial population some way from the town centre. The internal fabric is in better condition than the outward appearance suggests. A large games room is found to the left of the entrance with a substantial lounge drinking area/ dance floor to the right with a number of raised seating areas with access to the beer garden. ***In early 2014 a planning application was accepted to demolish the Shuttle and build a care home. The pub eventually closed in June 2018**
