Over 400 years old (refronted in 1800) with wooden panels and (very) low ceilings with exposed beams and has part of the great wall of London visible in the car park. It's believed that Charles I may have stayed here in 1646. Grade II listed.

Note the second hand pump offers ESB or HSB while a third hand pump is used to showcase interesting Dark Star or other brewery ales. However, they are now offering four real ales to choose from. Hillingdon residents Hillingdon First card discount offered Sun-Thu on food and drink. There is now an EV charging facility.

Historic Interest

Grade II listing:- Probably C16 timber-framed building refronted circa 1800. 2 storeys, 2 windows. Stucco with low pitched slated roof. 1 1-storey and 1 2-storey canted bays. Sash windows with glazing bars. Half glazed central door. Canted angle to 2-bay front on Hillingdon Road with blank 1st floor. West extension of painted brick with tiled roof, formerly stables. Charles I stopped here during his flight in April 1646.
